Biography

Gerry Hoover was born in Montpelier Indiana on October 3rd 1943. He graduated with a Masters degree in figure drawing from Tulane University in 1967. He then taught figure drawing at Morehead State University in Morehead Kentucky from 1967-1971. Moving to Boston, MA, he was commissioned for book illustrations and collectors plate designs while continuing his passion for art with personal creations. His work is often described as modernist figure painting and has been offered at multiple auctions. He returned to Morehead State University in 1978. Gerry continued to produce many artworks in various mediums until his passing on September 3rd 1997.
